Management and Staff

Karen Blumenfeld, Esq., Executive Director, and Director of the Policy and Legal Resource Center, is globally recognized for her expertise in tobacco control and emerging trends in smokefree initiatives. She has more than 23 years of experience with New Jersey GASP, and is licensed to practice law in New Jersey, and her B.A. in Economics from Drew University.

Cara Ann Murphy, Esq., Policy & Program Attorney, graduated from Muhlenberg College with a BA in Political Science, and from Duquesne University School of Law, licensed to practice law in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She began working with GASP in 2013 after graduation from law school, applying her legal dedication and advocacy skills to creating a smokefree future.

Karen Haines, MS is our part-time Finance and Technology Administrator. She comes to GASP with an interest in public health, an advanced degree in Clinical Nutrition, and 17 years of insurance industry experience in Financial Systems.

Alan Kantz, Program Manager, graduated from Drew Universtity with a BA in philosophy. He began working with GASP in 2010, transferring his passion for student activism into advocacy for smokefree environments.

Mary Anne May, is our part-time Program and Administrative Associate.
