5/31/11: Atlantic City's new casino resort Revel exploring 100% smokefree property

The Press of Atlantic City newspaper reported on May 29, 2011 that Atlantic City's new casino resort called Revel Atlantic City will most likely be 100% smokefree, according to Revel Entertainment's CEO, Kevin DeSanctis. It is scheduled to open on May 15, 2012. The resort will focus on nongaming revenues from dining, entertainment and resort guest rooms as well as gaming. GASP is quoted in the Press of Atlantic City article on how 100% smokefree gaming laws are increasing in the U.S.A and overseas. GASP Executive Director Karen Blumenfeld, Esq. stated in the story: "I think that Revel is acknowledging public demand for a smoke-free environment," Blumenfeld said. "Tourists want to visitand spend their dollars in places where they are healthy. They'll come back and tell their friends, 'I had a wonderful vacation at Revel and - Guess what? - it was smoke-free.'"
