2/11/14: United Kingdom agrees to ban smoking in cars when children are present
United Kingdom lawmakers voted to give power to the ministers to bring a law forward by May 2015 (prior to elections), that will ban smoking in cars when children are present. The vote was approved by 376-107 in the House of Commons. The result gives Jeremy Hunt, the Health Secretary, the authority to make it illegal to light up in a vehicle if a child is present, but it does not compel him to bring in the legislation.
