10/4/11: England and Northern Ireland ban vending machine cigarette sales

The sale of cigarettes through vending machines has been made illegal in both England and Northern Ireland. This can help protect children since vending machines are a convenient method for underage tobacco users to purchase cigarettes. Englands ban took effect October 1, 2011.
